Blue Ocean Track

Future Founders Fellowship

Mentorship for a global entrepreneurship competition.

A small cohort. A real deadline. A 5-minute pitch submitted to the Blue Ocean Strategy competition — with the tools the judges actually score.

High-school students 14–18 · Cohort of 15 · October to February

The competition is the medium

Blue Ocean is how we learn the skills. Winning is a goal. The process is the point.

The Blue Ocean Student Entrepreneur Competition is a global, virtual pitch contest for high-school students. Last cycle: 23,000+ students, 173 countries. You submit a 5-minute video. The contest is free to enter. What it does not give you is a mentor who will pressure-test the idea, teach the two books properly, and stay until the video is actually uploaded.

That is the Fellowship. Cosmic Essence is not affiliated with the organisers. Students register themselves on the official site. I run the work that makes a submission worth judging.

What we actually do

Entrepreneurship through physics. Then Blue Ocean, done properly.

The founder OS first

Spotting a problem worth solving. Picking a solution. Building a model that does not collapse under questions. Agency — going after it without waiting for permission. The same 4 Dimensions of Seeing I use in the Bootcamp.

Then the contest tools

The official mini-course is the book on video. It is not enough. Strategy Canvas, ERRC Grid, Buyer Utility Map, non-customers — we walk them on their idea, with modern examples, until the judging criteria is not a surprise.

I do not give them the idea

We brainstorm. I give pros and cons. They decide. Once we lock, we do not keep reversing — that wastes the only resource Grade 11 does not have, which is time. Then we make that idea as strong as it can be.

Teams, if they want them

Blue Ocean allows solo or teams of up to five, from anywhere. I prefer teams. Working with other humans is a skill school does not teach. Solo is allowed. The cohort is 15 so the bar stays high either way.

Who this is for

Grade 10–12 students who will treat this as work

A fit if…

  • They are 14–18 and want a global competition on the profile — and are willing to earn it.
  • They can put hours in between sessions, not just attend class.
  • They want to compete, not collect another activity.
  • You are fine with an application. This is not a buy-now button.

Not a fit if…

  • They will not show up, or the family wants the idea handed over.
  • You need a Top 100 placement or an Ivy outcome in writing. I will not sell that.
  • This is their first time thinking about entrepreneurship and they want a lighter snapshot — start with the Bootcamp.
  • They need a STEM prototype competition (Conrad and similar). That is a different skill set.
They walk away with

A submitted pitch. A way of seeing. A public artefact.

A Blue Ocean venture on paper

Strategy Canvas, ERRC, Buyer Utility Map, non-customers — filled, revised, defended. Not a template they clicked through.

A 5-minute video, submitted

Deadline is 21 February. We work to an internal finish in January so February is buffer, not panic.

Something real to point to

A documented original venture and a global competition video. Useful for college conversations. We do not sell admissions.

The skills underneath

Opportunity-spotting, working with other people, making a decision and standing by it, communicating under a deadline. Those do not go out of fashion.

Credibility, said plainly

Atray Agrawal

195+ students. I have run NASA Space Settlement projects with school teams. This is my first dedicated Blue Ocean cohort — I will not pretend otherwise. I have spent years on the books, the past entries, and the pattern that almost every serious startup is a Blue Ocean move. I stay on the live calls. Cohort of 15. High bar on who comes in.

I want them to win. I also want them to notice how they got there. Make the decision on that basis.
